This is an image based on two dieties known as 'Gods of the Doorway'.

They are often depicted with one God having a red face and the other a White one. Both have terrifying expressions and are armed with special armory to fight evil spirits.

There are many stories about Men-shen, but this one depicts Qin Shu-bao and Hu Jing-de who are guarding the door of the emperor Taizong against a snake demon.

This is an image based on the meeting of the Dragon of the Eastern Sea and the Monkey King.

Sun Wukong forced the dragon, Ao Guang, to give him his red cape, phoenix-feathered cap, cloud-walking boots and his magically expanding gold-ringed iron rod weapon.

Despite seveal battles that resulted from this unamiable transaction, they both eventually became tolerable friends.

This is an image based on the God, Zhong Kui, who is reknowned as a ghost and demon slayer. His picture is hung up on the 5th day of the 5th month of every year.

Zhong Kui's origins are unclear, but in most cases he is depicted with a black face, protruding eyes and a comical black beard. He is often accompanied by a bat.

In this image, he is fighting a demon on the bridge that leads to the underworld.
