Title: Conher Pre style 1600
Date: 2002
Medium: Giclée on Canvas
Size: 60cm x 60cm
Edition: 99
This is one of a series of artworks I did parodying various products.
The idea was inspired by the Wacky Packs of the seventies.
Wacky Packs mocked name products, like Weakies for Wheaties and ran from 1973-1976.
They came in packs of two, with a puzzle piece and a stick of gum.
The text on the hairdryer reads:
CONHER (Parody on CONAIR CORP)
Pre Style 1600
The text on the upside-down label reads:
How to electrocute a buddy-
As with most electrical appliances, electric
Dryers are electrically live even when (turned off)
to induce risk of death by electricity.
1. Leave “plugged in” after use.
2. Place or store where it can easily be
pulled into tub, toilet or sink.
3. Suggest using while bathing.
4. Or drying near or in a place with water.
5. If dryer falls into water, suggest that you
reach into water.
