Title: We Exchange Anything.
Date: 2002
Medium: Giclée on Paper
Size: 61cm x 46cm
Edition: 99
This is one of three images that I did based on humourous signs and mannequins. I took the reference photograph, while vacationing in Montreal, Canada and changed the sign, which originally read CLOSED. Please Come Again. I wanted to create a fictitious, yet plausible, environment. I also added the bowtie and underwear to the undressed mannequin, as a parody on Playboy bunnies who wear similar attire.
The text on the sign, that was taken from a secondhand store, reads:
We Exchange Anything
Bicycles, washing machines etc.
Why not bring your wife along
And get a wonderful bargain.
