This is one of a series that I have created by building sculptures from the pages of related books, which in this case is based on religious institutions.

The original concept for the series came from my interest in both the traditional cut-out paper and the pop-up book techniques, as well as inspiration from the works by the Danish artist Peter Callesen.

The intention of this sculpture is to document that the temple is not only an icon, but also as a structure of grandeur and status.

For many people, the temple is a place of peace and tranquillity, where one can contemplate their spirituality or in some cases, even find a purpose in life.
