This is one of a series that I have created by building sculptures from the pages of related books, in this case the zeppelin was made from the pages of a book containing fantasy airships.

The original concept for the series came from my interest in both the traditional cut-out paper and the pop-up book techniques, as well as inspiration from the works by the Danish artist Peter Callesen.

I was always fascinated by fantasy zeppelins after seeing the movie, ‘Master of the World’, when I was 11 years old. I also believe that it contributed to my love of flying and travel. This image is a homage to that movie and all the imaginary adventures it provided for me.
