Title: Reflections of a Disaster
Date: 2004
Medium: Giclée on Paper.
Size: 40cm x 30cm
Edition: 99

This is an image based on the Shadow Series and relates to the destruction of the twin towers that occurred on September 11, in New York.

I wanted to depict the moments after the first plane hit the tower, by showing the event reflected in a puddle of water. This view was to reinforce that although the disaster had occurred earlier, the memory was still imbedded in people’s minds.

I took the source photograph of the puddle, when I visited New York a month after the disaster.
