Title: Zebras & Zundays
Date: 1999
Medium: Giclée on Paper
Size: 45cm x 30cm
Edition: 99
This artwork was inspired by an early Sunday morning dream that I had.
At the time, my girlfriend, Emiko, was up early and had done the washing and was hanging it up to dry.
I had been dreaming of a Zebra watching his mate and after I awoke, I ended up watching mine. My futon cover had a stripe pattern, so this may have been the subconscious inspiration for dreaming of a Zebra, rather than another animal.
The title, Zebra and Zundays, is just a play on the first letter of each word. I used a vector programme to paint the image.
