My friend, Emiko, and I travelled to Bangkok and after we got on the plane, she opened her carry-on and there were several treats she had brought for the journey.
I realized how people often find it hard to leave what they are fond of behind. So, while exploring the city, I photographed some tortoises in a temple pond that were congregated together, except for one tortoise. I watched for awhile, but the creature continued to just meander in the same area
So, this image is a humourous statement about how society is basically communal, with only a few exceptions. But, even those exceptions are often reluctant to entirely leave their comfort zone.
The text in the left pond reads: BEFORE 2 HOURS and the text on the right reads: AFTER 2 HOURS. Little progress has been made.
