Title: Emiko, Tokyo
Date: 1994
Medium: Giclée on Paper
Size: 27cm x 38cm
Edition: 99
This is the one of twelve images I created during my time in Tokyo.
My friend, Emiko, and I would often pick a different place to visit, whenever we had the chance. In this instance we visited the Imperial Palace, where I took a photograph of Emiko, against a stone wall, with its rugged stone and decorous lines.
These types of walls can be found throughout Japan. They are mostly associated with castles that were built around 400 years ago.
I have used a stippling method, of small dots, applied by a felt pen, to create the original drawing that is used for the giclée process.
