Chuang Mu, also known as the Lady of the Bedchamber, oversees all aspects of what goes on in the bedroom, which means, sleeping, resting, giving birth, recovering from illness and dying

Therefore, her aid is sought in various ways including burning joss sticks and offering rice, tea, fruit and flowers. At the same time the host or hostess is expected to keep the bedroom clean and in a proper manner with daily fresh sheets and all clutter kept under control.

Also on 4th March, when the Lantern Festival takes place, Chuang Mu can help in securing a partner for those who don't have anyone to share their life with.
