Title: Egrets & Peonies I
Date: 2016
Medium: Giclée on Canvas.
Size: 76cm x 43cm
Edition: 99

This image is one of a series that I created that examines the Chinese Mythological coupling of specific flora and fauna.

As the traditional floral symbol of China, peonies are considered the flower of riches and honour. With their lush, full, rounded bloom, peonies embody romance and prosperity and are regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage.

When depicted with an egret, it increases the security of being rich and honoured for life.
