Title: Dragonfly II
Date: 1985
Medium: Plaster of Paris, Oil & Bitumen.
Size: 56cm x 42cm
Edition: 8
This was an image inspired by a dragonfly that had landed on the door to my darkroom.
I have always had a fascination for these insects and have done several studies.
In some beliefs, the dragonfly symbolizes freedom. So in this image, I juxtaposed it with a lock, which can often symbolize constraint, so I have created a perfect balance of yin and yang.
