This was an image based on a gift that my girlfriend, Ann, brought me as a house warming present.

I had been working on the kitchen all day and it was cluttered, so the plant ended up on the window sill.

I was experimenting with aquatint at the time, so was interested in replicating the wood texture in the window frame and sill as well as the tonal values in the flowers.
